  • Sequencing actions with the -form: Use XY to show a simple sequence of actions. In the story, means ‘I borrowed (it) and then went outside.’ This is a natural way to show two actions in order.

English

The Umbrella in the Classroom

Today, I am in my classroom at school.
Outside it is rainy and cold, and I don’t have an umbrella.
I ask my friend, “Do you have an umbrella?”
My friend says, “Yes, please use this.”
I borrow the umbrella and went outside.
It is raining, but I feel relieved.
