テストのペン

先生せんせいが教室きょうしつに入はいりました。
午前ごぜん９時くじから１０時じゅうじまで、日本語にほんごのテストでした。
でも、私わたしのかばんの中なかに鉛筆えんぴつがありませんでした。
隣となりの友達ともだちが、黒くろいペンと青あおいペンを見みせました。
私わたしは先生せんせいに「テストはどちらがいいですか」と聞ききました。
先生せんせいは「黒くろがいいです」と言いいましたから、その黒くろいペンを借かりました。

• 〜から〜まで and durations 〜から〜まで marks the start and the end of a span (‘from … to …’). A duration counter such as 〜時間じかん or 〜週間しゅうかん says how long something lasts. 午前ごぜん９時くじから１０時じゅうじまで、日本語にほんごのテストでした。(“From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., it was the Japanese test.”)
• どちら / どれ (which) どちらが〜ですか asks which of two things is …; どれが〜ですか asks which of three or more. The answer takes が too. 私わたしは先生せんせいに「テストはどちらがいいですか」と聞ききました。(“I asked the teacher, ‘Which one is good for the test?’”)

The Pen for the Test

The teacher entered the classroom.
From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., it was the Japanese test.
But, there was no pencil in my bag.
The friend next to me showed a black pen and a blue pen.
I asked the teacher, “Which one is good for the test?”
Because the teacher said, “Black is good,” I borrowed that black pen.
