  • V + Resultant state (something is in a state after an action happened). Example: Here, means “the window is open” (it is currently in the open state), not “is opening.”
  • After doing ~. Example: This means “After the bird went outside, I closed the window.”
  • Because/so (gives a reason). Example: The clause before is the reason (“Because the window is open”), and the clause after is the result (“it is very cold”).

English

The Classroom Window and the Bird

In the morning, I am in the school classroom.
Because the window is open, it is very cold.
I want to close the window right away.
But because there is a small bird near the window, I am waiting quietly.
After the bird went outside, I closed the window.
Now, the inside of the classroom is warm, so I think, ‘Thank goodness.’
