来週らいしゅう、私わたしは海うみへ行いきます。
だから、今日きょうは町まちの店みせへ服ふくを買かいに行いきました。
棚たなに赤あかいシャツがたくさんありましたが、青あおいシャツはありませんでした。
店みせの人ひとに「青あおいシャツがほしいです」と言いいました。
店みせの人ひとは、大おおきい箱はこから綺麗きれいな青あおいシャツを出だしました。
そのシャツを買かって、うちへ帰かえりました。

• 〜がほしいです (want a thing) Noun + がほしいです says that the speaker wants a thing. The thing wanted takes が, not を. 店みせの人ひとに「青あおいシャツがほしいです」と言いいました。(“I said to the shop staff, ‘I want a blue shirt.’”)
• 〜と言いいます (say that) 〜と言いいます reports what someone says, and と marks the reported content. An indirectly reported clause normally takes the plain form. A direct quotation in 「」 keeps the speaker’s original wording. 店みせの人ひとに「青あおいシャツがほしいです」と言いいました。(“I said to the shop staff, ‘I want a blue shirt.’”)
