喫茶店きっさてんのケーキ

水曜日すいようび、私わたしは喫茶店きっさてんへ行いきました。
ケーキを食たべたかったですが、お金かねが五百円ごひゃくえんぐらいしかありませんでした。
少すこし心配しんぱいしましたから、店みせの人ひとに「どのケーキがいちばん安やすいですか」と聞ききました。
店みせの人ひとは「この三百円さんびゃくえんのバナナケーキです」と言いいました。
私わたしはそれを買かいました。
それは安やすくて、とてもおいしかったです。

Grammar / Notes

• 〜ぐらい / 〜くらい (about) 〜ぐらい or 〜くらい after an amount or a length of time means ‘about’ or ‘approximately’. ケーキを食たべたかったですが、お金かねが五百円ごひゃくえんぐらいしかありませんでした。(“I wanted to eat a cake, but I only had about 500 yen.”)

The Coffee Shop Cake

On Wednesday, I went to a coffee shop.
I wanted to eat a cake, but I only had about 500 yen.
Because I was a little worried, I asked the shop staff, ‘Which cake is the cheapest?‘
The shop staff said, ‘It is this 300-yen banana cake.‘
I bought it.
It was cheap, and very delicious.
