図書館としょかんでコーヒー

今日きょう、私わたしは図書館としょかんで日本語にほんごを勉強べんきょうしています。
コーヒーがすきですから、かばんの中なかにコーヒーがあります。
でも、図書館としょかんでコーヒーを飲のんでもいいか、わかりません。
受付うけつけの人ひとに「ここでコーヒーを飲のんでもいいですか。」と聞ききました。
受付うけつけの人ひとは「すみません、だめです。」と言いいました。
外そとでコーヒーを飲のんでから、また図書館としょかんで勉強べんきょうします。

Grammar / Notes

• 〜がすきです / きらいです Noun + がすきです means ‘like’ and noun + がきらいです ‘dislike’. The thing liked takes が, because すき and きらい are na-adjectives, not verbs. コーヒーがすきですから、かばんの中なかにコーヒーがあります。(“Because I like coffee, I have coffee in my bag.”)
• 〜ています (in progress) 〜ています attaches to the て-form and describes an action that is going on right now, like the English ‘-ing’ form. 今日きょう、私わたしは図書館としょかんで日本語にほんごを勉強べんきょうしています。(“Today, I am studying Japanese at the library.”)

Coffee at the library

Today, I am studying Japanese at the library.
Because I like coffee, I have coffee in my bag.
But I don’t know if it’s okay to drink coffee in the library.
I asked the reception person, “Is it okay to drink coffee here?”
The reception person said, “Sorry, it’s not allowed.”
After I drink coffee outside, I will study at the library again.
