銀行と約束

金曜日きんようびの夕方ゆうがた、私わたしは町まちの銀行ぎんこうへ急いそいで行いきました。
私わたしは新あたらしいカードを作つくりたかったです。
人ひとがたくさんいましたから、とても時間じかんがかかると思おもいました。
友達ともだちとの約束やくそくがありましたから、銀行ぎんこうの人ひとに「どのくらい待まちますか」と聞ききました。
その人ひとは「時間じかんはかかりません。五分ごふんぐらいで終おわりますよ」と言いいました。
本当ほんとうに五分ごふんで終おわって、五時ごじに友達ともだちと会あうことができました。

• Past desire form 〜たかったです (wanted to do): “私わたしは新あたらしいカードを作つくりたかったです。” Verb stem + たかったです expresses what you wanted to do.

The Bank and the Appointment

On Friday evening, I hurried to the town’s bank.
I wanted to make a new card.
Because there were many people, I thought it would take a lot of time.
Because I had an appointment with a friend, I asked the bank staff, “How long will I have to wait?”
That person said, “It will not take long. It will be finished in about five minutes.”
It really finished in five minutes, and I was able to meet my friend at five o’clock.
